The maintenance building expansion project is an addition of 5,225 sf to the west side of the existing two story facility. The new apparatus bays will be equipped with new vehicle lifts, gantry crane and a state of the art electrical distribution system that is easily re-configurable for future needs. Surrounding the new work bays are welding, fabrication, lock and sign shops along with a tire storage, lubrication and storage rooms. These local resources enable the Port Authority staff to quickly respond to virtually any maintenance need of the airport or equipment. Renovations in the existing building consists of a complete overhaul of the 1st floor of 2,665 sf and the 2nd floor 3,250 sf spaces. The interior makeover will include new entry stairwells to the upstairs; offices, windows, break rooms, ADA chair lifts, restrooms and all effected finishes through-out. The roof system of the existing building is being completely replaced as well as all HVAC units in the process. The parking lot of the facility is also being expanded to accommodate the new influx of traffic. Area that was previously an unused grass field space has now been outfitted with drainage and paved with new asphalt.
